First class job

Superb customer service and first class job. Our house is very old and nothing is straight! However, Graham fitted the blinds perfectly, despite our odd sized windows. Fantastic customer service, great product and fitting - 100% recommend.

FaqS - Ordering

Why choose Hardcastle Shutters?

As a truly independent business, we’re able to offer a tailored service while maintaining low prices. That means no waiting on hold or speaking to a different person at each stage. When you work with us, our family team will be with you every step of the way. Find out more about Graham and Hardcastle Shutters on our About Us Page.

How much do hardwood shutters cost?

The most significant factor influencing the cost of your shutters is window size. Our hardwood shutters prices start at £265 per square metre. However, price is also dependent on shutter style and shaping requirements.

Request a quick quote today, and we can give you a rough idea of your project cost. After this, we’ll arrange a free home visit to finalise your quote. All our quotes include fitting and installation, plus a five-year warranty as standard.

How long will it take to get my shutters fitted?

All our shutters are made-to-measure. Please allow 8-10 weeks between order and installation. As soon as they’re ready, we’ll get your installation booked in ASAP.

Do your shutters come with a warranty?

Yes, all our hardwood and polyvinyl shutters (for wet areas) come with a five-year warranty.

What areas do Hardcastle Shutters cover?

We mainly fit Hertfordshire shutters, but we also cover areas of Cambridgeshire, Essex and Bedfordshire. For home shutter installation, we work in a 20-mile radius from our base in Buntingford. However, we can travel further afield for larger-scale projects. Please contact us with your requirements and visit the Areas We Cover page for more details.

Are shutters a good investment?

As well as looking beautiful in your home, shutters also offer significant benefits when it comes to privacy and light control. What’s more, shutters look great from the outside too, adding that all-important curb appeal. Check out this blog post on the top benefits of interior shutters to find out more.

FaqS - Shutter types

I’m not sure which shutter type is best for my home, can you help?

Of course! Owner Graham has been working in the window shading industry for almost a decade and is on hand to help to find a style that suits your home and lifestyle.

Can I have bespoke shaped shutters?

Yes, bespoke shapes are not a problem with shutters. Whether it’s round windows, arches, bay windows or patio doors, we have a shutter design to suit.

Can I have interior shutters in wet areas?

Absolutely. We have a water-resistant polyvinyl shutter option suitable for bathrooms, ensuites, kitchens or utility rooms.

Are hardwood shutters the same as plantation shutters?

Yes, hardwood shutters are also known as plantation shutters or California shutters.
